Hamburg — Add Art 2025: companies become art spaces

20.11.2025 67

From 20 to 23 November 2025, Hamburg will once again host one of Germany’s most distinctive cultural initiatives — Add Art 2025. This annual event connects businesses, urban environments and contemporary art by transforming office spaces and corporate buildings into open exhibition venues. Companies across Hamburg open their doors to visitors, presenting works by contemporary artists, illustrators, media designers and representatives of the street-art scene.

Add Art is not just an exhibition but a citywide conversation about the interaction between business and art. The project shows that corporate environments can also function as creative spaces and that companies are able to support emerging artists by giving them access to an audience that traditional galleries rarely reach.

In 2025, 19 companies have confirmed their participation, turning their premises into cultural hotspots for four days. Their spaces will feature installations, paintings, photography, audiovisual performances and urban-culture artworks. Among the participants are both major companies and small creative studios, each contributing its own artistic perspective.

The open-route format creates a unique atmosphere: visitors can move freely from company to company, exploring different locations while rediscovering the city. Add Art can be experienced as a “cultural route,” where art steps outside traditional museum walls and becomes part of real working environments.

A key component of the project is the support of young artists. The organisers aim to build a platform for emerging creatives to present their work, receive feedback and establish professional connections. Add Art also encourages discussion about the role of art in society, its influence on corporate culture and the pressing themes that shape contemporary artistic expression.

Each year, the project addresses socially relevant topics — from urban development and technology to social change and inclusion. With its diverse participants, Add Art reflects a wide spectrum of artistic approaches and current issues.

Admission to Add Art remains free, ensuring the event stays accessible to everyone. Hamburg’s cultural authorities highlight that the project aligns perfectly with the city’s cultural strategy, which focuses on openness, talent development and the expansion of creative spaces.

Add Art 2025 is set to become one of the most notable cultural events of November, uniting the city, the business community and creative professionals in a shared cultural experience.
