“New Berlin” continues the avant-garde film cycle by Alexey Fedorchenko, which also includes First on the Moon and Big Snakes of Ulli-Kale. The story follows a group of people searching for Berta, a relative of one of the protagonists who disappeared many years ago.
Their journey from Moscow to distant Colombia becomes a philosophical exploration of memory, history, and personal motivation. Styled as a pseudo-documentary, the film creates a sense of immediacy and deliberately blurs the line between fiction and reality.
