On November 7 in Hamburg and November 8 in Frankfurt, a unique scientific and gastronomic show “Fried Facts. Kolmanovsky & Shishkin” will take place.
Renowned science journalist Ilya Kolmanovsky and chef, writer, and lecturer Ivan Shishkin explore one of the hottest topics of our time — the role of meat in human nutrition and its impact on health and the environment.
In an interactive format, Kolmanovsky and Shishkin will discuss what science really says about food, how nutrition myths are formed, and whether mindful consumption is possible without losing the joy of life.
Right before the audience’s eyes, they will cook unexpected dishes, demonstrating how scientific thinking and culinary creativity can transform our perception of food and cooking.
Show topics:
Is meat harmful — myth or scientific fact?
What is mindful eating and how can we achieve it?
How modern science helps us cook better and live longer
Why the pleasure of eating is an important part of a healthy lifestyle
Each participant will not only learn what modern science says about food, but also receive practical advice and recipes based on the Epicurean philosophy — how to eat wisely and joyfully.
Ilya Kolmanovsky — science journalist, author of the “Naked Mole Rat” podcast, for over 20 years has been popularizing science, explaining complex discoveries in simple terms, and making science part of everyday life.
Ivan Shishkin — chef without a restaurant, lecturer in applied natural sciences, writer, and author of culinary books. For more than 15 years, he has been studying the nature of ingredients, training chefs, and helping people develop a conscious relationship with food.
